Google Takes Drastic Steps

Google has fired 28 of its employees over their protest of the company. Many Google employees have been doing sit ins at the company headquarters in protest of its business relationships with Israel.

Google had the protestors arrested for disrupting traffic inside the building. The anti-Israel protestors have also been denigrating Google, calling it a supporter of genocide and apartheid. The Hill says:

Google has fired 28 employees in the aftermath of protests over technology that the internet company is supplying the Israeli government amid the Gaza war, further escalating tensions surrounding a hot-button deal.

The firings confirmed by Google late Wednesday came a day after nine employees were arrested during sit-in protests at offices in New York and Sunnyvale, California, after the company called police.

While Google has fired the offenders, they have also been reiterating that their work with the Israeli government has not been related to defense or intelligence activities. The BBC continues:

Google said Project Nimbus “is not directed at highly sensitive, classified, or military workloads relevant to weapons or intelligence services”.

Google said protesters were disrupting offices and were “physically impeding other employees’ work and preventing them from accessing facilities”.

This incident will serve as a wakeup call for all Big Tech firms, who have been hiring radical leftists into their ranks. Now that their protest activities are hurting Google’s bottom line and reputation, Big Tech companies will most likely start enforcing stricter rules about protesting within the company.
