How X Wants to Win Back Advertisers

Elon Musk is rolling out a new plan for X/Twitter to bring back up its advertising revenue.

According to CNBC, Musk struck a deal with the digital firm Integral Ad Science. Their technology intends to provide advertisers the protection for their brand, such as ad placement.

Twitter’s advertising revenue has been down due to multiple factors. The end of verified statuses had lead to impersonation, jeopardizing the integrity of brands online. The technical glitches and rapid changes in course also pushed advertisers away, who seek reliability in their ad placements.

While Musk and X say they are committed to free speech and low content moderation, the economic reality has meant that they have had to strike a certain balance between anarchy and censorship.

Integral Ad Science’s technology is already in use by other big tech firms, such as Youtube and TikTok.
