Twitter Does a Major Rebrand

Twitter is about to imminently rebrand Twitter as X according to Elon Musk, the BBC reports.

Twitter’s corporate name has already changed to X. Elon Musk has previously stated that he wanted to transform Twitter into an “everything” app, similar to China’s WeChat.

In addition to the name change, Musk is also looking to change the famous bird logo to a simple “X”, though the final design is yet to be decided.

Twitter has been through a turbulent transition since the Musk acquisition. Its cash flow is still negative, with advertisers dropping. Twitter has also suffered from infrastructure failures, forcing a limit on tweets.

Twitter is facing increased market pressure from Meta’s Threads. Changing Twitter/X’s app to incorporate more elements might be enough to differentiate it from competitors. However, it may risk chipping even more at Twitter’s established brand.

  1. Twitter obviously does a lot of biased censoring by its employees! Elon still has some serious house cleaning to do!
