Tired of Typing in Your Password? Google has a new feature

Google has enabled the new passkey technology to login to its services. This makes logging in both faster and more secure. Watch how it works:

Passwords have been around for a long time, the only barrier in securing all our online accounts. Two-factor authentication was a great step in the right direction, where users would receive a code on their phone as a more secure option. However, bad actors continued to innovate in order to circumvent that, sometimes impersonating IT security to pry two-factor codes from unsuspecting victims.

Passkeys are the next evolution in online security. All major digital companies, Google among them, has said they would support this new technology. Instead of storing passwords on its server, accounts would use public key cryptography, only logging in when matched with the appropriate private key that would reside on your phone. To access the passkeys themselves, you would use your phone pin or biometrics.
