Man in Texas Arrested After Ramming Tesla

A 33-year-old man from Texarkana, Texas, named Demarqeyun Marquize Cox, has been arrested after allegedly driving his ATV into parked Tesla vehicles.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, March 26, 2025, and was captured on surveillance footage from one of the Teslas that was damaged.

According to the Texarkana Police Department, the first report of the ramming came from the Golden Palace restaurant on Summerhill Road, where the video showed a man on a mini four-wheeler intentionally colliding with a parked Tesla.

While the police were investigating this incident, another report surfaced regarding additional damage to a Tesla in a nearby Lowe’s parking lot.

Officer Blake Lummus later spotted Cox riding the mini ATV near Summerhill and New Boston Roads and recognized him from the video evidence.

Upon being stopped, Cox initially provided a false name, but he was quickly identified and taken into custody.

Currently, Cox faces charges of felony criminal mischief and failure to identify. The police are also probing whether he was responsible for the subsequent incidents reported after his initial arrest.

The damage caused to the Tesla at the Golden Palace was substantial, with owner Virita Carstaffin estimating repairs could exceed $1,000. Footage of the attack shows Cox crashing his ATV into the side of the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Cox, who is reported to weigh nearly 450 pounds and stands at 5-foot-2, is being held in the Bi-State Jail on a $105,000 bond.

Investigators continue to gather evidence and assess whether further charges will be applied based on the extent of the damages to the other vehicles involved.
